2012 Shot in a remote region of Albania, the film depicts a family's enduring relationship with the land and the landscape they inhabit. Spectres of the modern world appear in the form of absences of those forced to look for work elsewhere. The depopulation and subsequent deforestation of the region threatens the future of an existence that has survived for hundreds of years.
